B. How the Heck Did We Get Here? (History/Legacy)

He was a man of adventure and this wasn’t just any resort. This resort was on an island and no cars were allowed on resort property. You would travel by boat from the mainland across the intercoastal. By the time we arrived at the rented condo, our luggage was already in our room and whatever groceries we had purchased were in the little kitchen. There was a trolley on the resort that you could pick up to take you to the one restaurant on the island. You could also rent a golf cart for more flexibility, but we typically didn’t. The challenge of getting there was a deterrent to many, but to be honest, the isolation from the masses was perhaps the biggest attraction. We would occasionally go back over the years. First with my parents and our children, then with friends. 30 years after our first visit, we purchased a house on the island, separate from the resort. A legacy of love to be continued on to the next generation…

What’s a legacy that you want to create? What do you think happens, if anything, when we are unintentional about creating a legacy?

“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
