J. Island Meal Prep (Preparation)

Lots of people means lots of meals. What if we ran out of food or forgot something at the store? Is one refrigerator enough? I was responsible for handling a Christmas meal. How is a ham going to fit in the frig with all the rest of the food we need to have on hand? Before traveling, I had contacted the local grocery store and pre-ordered a sliced ham and mashed potatoes to pick up on the 24th. I figured I could manage the rest of the meals. I was picturing a large ham that was set aside for me but it they sliced up thick slices of ham and put it in large foil pans instead. That was a bit unexpected, but worked out well because I could put those in our mini-fridge without having to waste space in the main frig. There are so many ways the world helps us save time and energy, but it takes some forethought to do it. It turns out that with a little planning on my part, I was worried for nothing and everything turned out great. God provided for everything in just the right ways.

Do you find it difficult to plan meals for large groups? What do you enjoy most and least when entertaining guests?

Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed – or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10: 41-42
