Are you lost or found?

When traveling by airplane, there seems to be three types of luggage.

First, you have your backpack or purse that has all the extremely important stuff like phone, wallet, and passport. The next type is your small carry-on bag that is good for short trips or the other essential stuff you want to hang onto. And then there is the checked bag.
The checked bag contains the non-essential items that you want with you on a longer trip but are in theory replaceable. For most people, there is a little mental wave goodbye when that piece is checked, knowing there is a chance that you might not see it again. There is always a huge sense of relief and joy when it pops through the conveyor belt at its final destination. It made it!!
My daughter was on a trip recently and was one of the unlucky ones. Our hearts sank as all the bags came through but neither of her checked bags made it. A claim was filed and we left empty handed. I must say, it is a weird feeling to leave the airport without any bags. It took another 3 days of follow ups but eventually there was a ring of the doorbell at the house… Oh, that sweet feeling of being reunited! Rejoicing even. The lost had been found.
It reminds me of how I can be just like that lost luggage. Separated from my owner like a lost sheep. I am so thankful that Jesus came to not only find me but to save me.
I would venture to say there is a decent chance of me getting lost every single day. Kind of like my luggage at the airport. Yet, the Lord is faithful. He sticks with me even when I get lost. He helps me find my way and is patient as I learn to turn back toward him.
Have you ever lost your luggage? If so, how did that make you feel? Were you surprised by it?
Do you ever feel lost? What do you do in order to be found?
Scripture
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10
