Do you know what “amd” means?

If you know what "amd" means, then I bet you totally get me.

I can’t remember the last time I typed a text without a typo. I don’t try to make mistakes, it just happens. It drives me nuts and I imagine the poor people trying to decipher them. I mean…how many times will I type “and” and it turn out “amd” – as if that is even a word! I would love to write a perfectly worded text or blog, but it is so hard! Why? Because I am human.

Another example is our current house that we are in the process of listing for sell. We had some pictures taken yesterday and of course I wanted everything to look as perfect as possible. It’s really hard to try to keep everything completely clean and organized. We did our best to get it looking as nice as possible and ironically it didn’t quite feel like the same house by the end of it. Why? Because we live there! Life is messy. People are messy and it’s part of life.

I admit that I can get caught up in the whole idea of perfectionism. I attest that there is a lot of misery in that kind of striving. Even if you can get close, it doesn't last.

I am finally beginning to understand how my shortcomings point me back to my Savior. It makes be thankful for those shortcomings and mistakes. Well… maybe not the “amd’s”. Those still REALLY irritate me.

How about you? Are you able to let things go or do you beat yourself up?

Are you allowing your shortcomings to point you back to Jesus?

Scripture

“for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
