Do you like to box things up?

I am having a love/hate relationship with cardboard boxes right now. I seem to be either trying to accumulate them or trying to figure out how to get rid of them. It is a vicious cycle and I have more boxes coming my way tomorrow.

I am in a constant state of filling them, emptying them, taping them, or breaking them down. It makes me think about how much time I spend with “stuff”. I look forward to the day where everything is nicely organized, every item in its own place, and I have easy access to exactly what I need and when I need it. Now, wouldn’t that be lovely!
Cardboard boxes are nice in that they hold a lot but the downside is you can’t see what is in them. The contents are hidden and I am at the mercy of my poor handwriting on the outside of the box. Even if they are labeled well, I have to remember where I put the box or that I have it at all.
This makes me think about other types of things I tend to “box up”. Things I can’t let go of but don’t want to deal with immediately. My feelings and emotions for example. Dealing with them takes time and I don’t build that kind of time into my schedule, if you know what I mean.
I can accumulate and box up all these emotions and feelings and then stack them up in the basement of my brain until there isn’t any room left for anything new. The only solution is to halt everything and “clean house”. To unbox all the stuff that hasn’t been addressed.
The good news is that Jesus creates order out of chaos. His perfect and divine wisdom cuts through the boxes and illuminates what I need to see. He shows me the tools I have gained as well as the things I need to release. Jesus is truth and shows me that through Him I am not meant to be contained nor are my experiences meant to be hidden away.

How can Jesus help you unpack your boxes? Which one do you want to pull out first?
