How healthy are your eyes?

Do you know anyone who has had cataract surgery? Maybe you have had the procedure yourself.

Cataracts are when the lens of the eye becomes clouded and gradually impacts vision clarity. Eventually, surgery becomes necessary or you could lose your vision all together. My mother is in an in-between stage right now where the doctor is keeping “an eye on it” for possible surgery. I have had several family members and friends with this issue.
We all have physical troubles from time to time and cataracts is just one illustration. For me, I am not the best at keeping up with my physical health or even warning signs. My husband can attest to my recent ER visit that ended up being just low blood sugar.
Perhaps you are like me and don’t really notice physical changes. What about spiritual health? I would say that my spiritual health is even more important. My spiritual health determines how clearly that I see God. My perspectives, perceptions, and priorities can all become skewed if I become too focused on what the world is saying, which let's be honest - is pretty dark. It's like severe cataracts that can’t be repaired.
Scripture tells me that when I am seeing clearly, that means I am focused on heavenly treasures and that my whole body will be full of light. The light of God’s goodness, generosity and his unfailing grace. I want that light.
If your soul was on a dimmer switch, what would be it's current setting? All the way up or down low?
Is the Holy Spirit challenging any of your current perceptions?
How accurate do you feel your view of God is right now? (Is your eye healthy?)
Scripture
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! Matthew 6: 22-23
34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Luke 11:34
