Have you ever been watching a TV show and realized you had watched it before, but couldn’t remember the ending? Maybe a “who dun it” show or a HGTV house hunt?

I happened upon a TV show on HGTV the other day and it was no surprise that a couple was looking at three houses and was going to pick one of them as their new home. I had seen it before. There was even one of the houses that had the same designer as one of our old houses. The funny thing was that I couldn’t remember the house that the couple ended up picking. I thought they probably wouldn’t pick the house that looked like ours. I went through a similar thought process as the last time I watched the show and I guessed the wrong house…again. That has happened to me on “who dun it” shows too. Even if I had seen it before, there are a lot of times I still can’t remember “who dun it”. The ending often eludes me.

This reminds me that with Jesus, we never have to guess at how the story ends. Unfortunately, even when we know the ending, we can live our life as if we have forgotten. The good news is we just need to go back to the source of life. We don’t have to live our lives in suspense. Jesus died for us so that we could have eternal life. We may not know exactly how each of our days will unfold, but we do know how the story ends and that’s what we need to remember.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.” John 11: 25
