Have you ever bought a book of questions?

When my husband and I started dating, we bought ourselves a book of questions designed for relationships. We would use it to ask each other questions as a way of getting to know one another better. I discovered that for me, I had to work my way into the questions. I couldn’t just start with a hard one or my mind would go blank. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Uh…I don’t know… Ask me about my favorite movie or candy. I found it took time, effort, and some practice to get my mind thinking on a deeper level.
We have continued to use these types of books over the years, including just last week. There is always something new to be learned no matter how much times passes. It feels like there is a direct correlation between our understanding of each other and the depth of our relationship.
I love that with God, each of us is fully known by him. He is capable of a depth in relationship that we may never fully understand, at least this side of heaven. I believe that if we want a deeper relationship with God, then we should be seeking to get to know him better. We need to be asking a LOT of questions and make sure that we are listening to the response. Would you agree?
What are some questions you can ask God to get to know him better?
Do you believe that as you get to know God better, you will also have a better understanding of yourself? Why or why not?
How deep would you say is your current relationship with God? What, if anything, can tend to cause that relationship to waiver?
How are your relationships with others impacted by how close you are to God?
Read through Psalm 139.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3: 5-6
Love the questions you asked here, Kristi. Another thought provoking devotional. Thank you
